promotion, nutrition, recreation and other health related fields.
Students will gain experience in sub maximal fitness evaluations, fitness
center supervision, one-on-one training, facility operations, exercise
orientations, floor supervision, assisting with day-to-day operations, sport
psychology, along with muscular strength and endurance, health risk appraisals
and designing and implementing motivational programs. Applications
are being accepted for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters for a minimum of 6
weeks (25-40 hours per week). Prospective interns must possess a
highly positive attitude, outgoing personality, motivated and effective
communication skills are a must. Current CPR certification and

The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) Health and Fitness Center in
New York City announces its availability as a corporate internship site.
This 8,000 sq. ft. facility can accommodate over 900 employee members. The
program offers state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training
equipment, as well as, a 1,000 sq. ft. group exercise studio. In addition
to individual exercise programs and an 18 class/week group exercise
schedule, NBC's Health and Fitness
Center provides
health education, recreation and motivational programs. Interns will be
given a broad range of opportunities and experiences from this program.
Fitness testing, orientating new clients, creating exercise prescriptions,
leading group exercise classes, computer applications, development of
individual project work, assisting with program promotion and facility
operations are all fundamental to the internship. All applicants must be
CPR/First Aid certified and should have a background in either physical
education, health education, exercise physiology or a related area. An
on-site interview is strongly recommended and exceptions are made on an

- Handling telephone inquires
- Greeting members
- Assisting with daily deposit packages

- Additional responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications:
- Junior, senior, or graduate of fitness related
program with the completion of the following courses: Exercise Physiology,
Anatomy and Physiology, and Exercise Prescription.
- CPR and First Aid certification
Intern sites include Boston, Cambridge, Waltham and Lowell.
Internships are a 40 hour per week commitment with a $100 weekly stipend.

Wellness Services offers internship opportunities in the fall, spring and
summer. Internships are 12 weeks long,
but may vary based on school requirements.
Our 16,000sq ft fitness facility includes a variety of cardiovascular
and strength training equipment, as well as a group exercise room. Our outdoor facilities include a softball
field, sand volleyball court and two tennis courts. The intern will work to
help plan and implement various programs relating to exercise, recreation,
educational seminars and special events.
The internship is designed to increase the student’s practical knowledge
and experience in area of health and fitness, floor work, exercise testing,
assessment and evaluation, as well as skill development in personal training
and group exercise instruction. Interested
candidates must be enrolled in a degree program focusing on exercise science or
health promotion. Candidates must also
be CPR certified. A stipend is
available. All interns must secure their
own housing, it is not available through PBG.
PBG’s HQ
Summer Internship Program is a great opportunity to apply classroom experience
to ‘hands-on’ work in a fun, energetic and learning environment. Interns will gain exposure to other
departments via our “Lunch & Learn Program” – an overview of each function
within PBG. Moreover, interns will be
required to visit one of PBG’s field locations for both a Route Ride and Plant
Tour.

America) for undergraduate students (junior or senior), studying in the
