The Oaks at Ojai is a residential health resort located in Southern California. The resort offers full time internships to college students. Positions are open to sophomore through graduate level students in any major, and particularly health and fitness oriented majors and management majors. Guests come to the spa for stress reduction, fitness gain, and weight loss, and to learn the basics of healthy living. We offer a low fat menu, 16 fitness classes daily and a variety of evening lectures. Students will have the opportunity to experience all practical phases of running a residential health spa. The program focuses on working with the management team, teaching fitness classes, front desk, reservations, and the kitchen and housekeeping departments. A concentration in any area is dependent upon the intern's skills and interest. A vital aspect of the internship is the students function as a liaison between the guest and the staff. By living on site, the intern can aid us in providing exceptional guest service. Interns are provided room, meals, use of the facilities, and a $50 per week stipend. Internships extend 12-15 weeks and are offered year round.
